We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Xinjiang. The landscapes were wonderful, the people were friendly and the history of the place is just amazing!
But what made this journey special were the wonderful guides who gave us an insight into local culture and shared their vast knowledge about the history of the region. They became friends we could draw on with any questions or to help with translations, bargaining etc. Priceless!
Thank you to the Kashgar guide company – the whole trip went smoothly and was well organised. And thank you to all guides – we enjoyed your humour, stories and friendly smiles. Without this tour, we would not have gained the same insights and we would not have been able to see so many amazing places in the short amount of time we had available ?

I am a Malaysian working in China. I have been based in Beijing for two years and have had the opportunities to visit many places in China as part of my work. Xinjiang is on my “must visit” list of locations before I leave China. I have chosen Kashgar as the destination for my first visit to Xinjiang due to its unique position in history as the gateway on the ancient Silk Road to the East.

I visited www.xinjiangtravel.com and found the website to be well organized, informative and up to date. This gave me the confidence to contact them. I received prompt and detailed reply from Abdul.

My three-day tour at Kashgar consist of the trip to Karakul lake via the KKH highway, tour of the old city and bazaars and a visit to the Taklamakan desert.
The KKH highway trip to the Karakul lake was like none others. The views were magnificent, despite the misty sky in April. The farm houses, Tibetan yaks and the Kyrgyz home visit were all very unique experiences. My driver Alim, is a very reliable driver. He drives safely and defensively. I was provided with a good and comfortable 4WD.
I highly recommend visiting the bazaars and the old city. My tour guide, Tudajim is helpful, knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. He was able to explain and relate various subjects during the bazaar and old city tour, giving me a very good understanding of the life, history and culture of the Uyghurs. I strongly recommend that anyone visiting Kashgar to secure a local Uyghur guide like Tudajim. There are small details and background information that only a local Uyghur guide can provide.
Kashgar, due to its unique location at the furthest west of China, has an entirely different experience as compared to other tourist destinations in China. I was put up at the Tian Yuan Hotel near the city center. This is a high value 4 star hotel, managed by a Singaporean manager. The location is convenient for a walk to the numerous local restaurants to sample the local delicacies. Don’t worry, it is completely safe to do so.

We used Kashgar Guide for a trip along the KKH, up to Kashkorgan. The service was fantastic, from the email responses whilst organising the trip, to the guide and driver who were always informative and had a sense of humour. We saw some incredible scenery and really enjoyed our visit to the Kyrgyz family. We would definitely recommend Kashgar Guide for a trip along the KKH, and from what we have seen, for any other trip too.

Best of luck for the future.

We travelled with Kashgar Guide on two trips in Oct of 2013 one from Oct 2-5 from Kashgar to Tashkurgan and back and the second from Oct 8-15 from Kashgar via Yarkand, Hetian, Minfeng Korla ,Turpan, to Urumqi. The trip was part of our 9 weeks of travel in China. We booked the hotels through Travel China Guide but asked Kashgar Guide to organize a personalized tour for the three of us according to our specifications regarding where we wanted to go, how long we wanted to stay at each destination, and specifically what we wanted to see. The service was very good and we benefited greatly from the knowledge of our local guides who went out of their way to describe and show us the local scenery, temples, marketplaces, and bazaars. We typically travel on our own but in this instance, without their knowledge of the local guides, we would have missed a great deal. So, thank you very much for all your help.

It made our trip a real pleasure.

After planning to travel to Kashgar, I quickly realised that the only feasible way to see the Karakoram Highway would be through a travel company.

I’m very glad I chose Kashgar Guide: the communication was prompt, the vehicle was modern and comfortable and the guide was knowledgeable with fluent English.

One of the greatest experiences of my life, and totally facilitated by Kashgar Guide.
