My wife and I brought a group of 24 to Xinjiang to visit both the North and South Silk Roads over a period of ten days. I chose the Kashgar Guide company because I wanted the group to see Xinjiang with a Uyghur perspective and because I was most impressed with Imam’s prompt, positive replies and the speed with which he was able to customise a suitable itinerary for us. Briefly, our itinerary covered Urumqi, Turpan, Hotan, Kashgar, and up the Karakoram Highway to Karakul Lake, Tashkurgan and beyond. Overall, our experience was outstanding. All flights and transfers went according to plan and our bus, with about 40 seats for the 24 of us, was plenty big and comfortable enough! The hotels were of a high standard and always provided a good night’s accommodation and sleep. The meals were varied and always something to look forward to. Guides are of critical importance for any tour, and ours, Ahmatjam and Tudajim, were excellent. Both were positive, friendly and caring, displaying a great knowledge appropriate to our tour, and both made a real effort to give us an insightful view of the Uyghur life and culture. To this end we even attended a wedding and visited some private homes. The guides were both 100% professional and, further, displayed a genuine concern for the well-being of the group members, going out of their way to make the tour enjoyable and special for everyone. I have been taking trips to adventurous parts of the globe for over 25 years and, if you are into visiting places a bit off the beaten track, then I highly recommend Xinjiang to you as a destination. I also highly recommend Kashgar guide as the company to entrust with turning your adventure dream into reality. It worked for us.
