Kokmarim Cave

Kokmarim Cave is located near the Layka Township of Hotan County. Kokmarim cave is about 34 kms southwest of Hotan city at the east bank of the Karakash River. The Kokmarim cave is located half way up the mountain, about 80 ms above the river bank.

The meaning of Kokmarim in Persian language is Snake Mountain. It is a two floor cave which is connected by stairs and a ladder. The Kokmarim cave is located at the foot of a hill, beside is a river. Best time to visit Kokmarim cave is in August,at that time you can enjoy traditional Uyghur wrestling, which you can’t see other part of Xinjiang.
