Mulberry Paper Making

Mulberry paper is a traditional handicraft of the Uyghur people. This kind of work all is done by hand. Nowadays, only few families in Hotan produces mulberry paper. Among them, one family lives in Hotan city.

He has been doing this in his whole life. The row material which they used and using for making paper is a mulberry tree bark. In early days, Those who do mulberry paper had a good business ,but nowadays because of the development ,not a good business any more.　　The art of his work has a history of more than 2, 000 years. According to historical facts the technique of the paper making handicraft was here more than 100 years earlier than Ceylon’s invention of the paper.
