I have been a great fan of the Central Asia and silk road history, wanted to see the Kashgar old city before it disappear due to redevelopment. Search for quite a while a reliable company to bring me around Kashgar plus a short adventure trip to the Karakul Lake and Muztagh Ata, I finally found Mr Imam from Kasharguide.com to arrange for a 5-day adventure trip between 18-22 Apr 2011. The company received positive feedback from travelers who have engaged Imam’s service before so I found it assuring enough for me to wire my 20% deposit over to Mr Imam, paying the remaining sum when I got there.
I traveled alone and airport pick-up and departure is well taken care off and timely. I must say that although in the end the trek to the Muztagh Ata base camp did not really pull through in view of the foul weather for the initial days both my driver and my guide Mr Alim made my stay a very pleasant and enrich one, offering alternative plans to visit a Tajik family at Tashkurgan, overnight stay at a Kyrgyz family along the Karakorum Highway, visit to the Sino-Pakistan border at 4600m altitude and even a short trek (on foot and motorbike)to the foot of Muztagh Ata finally when the weather subsequently turned well. All these filled my short span of 5 days was just right and I could not ask for more in such difficult but exotic places of the world.
I highly recommend this company for a guided tour to anywhere in Xinjiang and I look forward to engaging them again the next time I return to for another adventure trip. (Boon from Singapore)
